A recent viral video showing a wolf sniping a beaver out of the water as it swam by led me to incredible footage from the Voyageurs Wolf Project. I’ve highlighted trail camera clips from the Voyageurs Wolf Project many times here at BroBible in the past as they capture incredible clips of wolves in the wild using their vast network of remote trail cams.
In the clip below, they’ve set up a camera at a remote beaver dam and captured 3 hours of motion-activated footage that has been edited down to just 6 minutes to show the highlights. It is incredible to see how wolves and bears alike use the beaver dam as a bridge to access hunting and roaming grounds. The beavers have literally built a land bridge for apex predators:
The footage is amazing. There’s a wolf hunting a beaver followed by a bear with three cubs followed by beavers being beavers doing cute beaver things. And it’s all filmed in such a remote part of the woods they are untouched by the modern world out there.
Now, for the other video… The one of the wolf pulling the beaver out of the water is something they say has “never been documented before.”
I’d like to share that video with you all here as it’s unique and incredible footage showing how unforgiving nature can be and how wolves are unmatched as hunters, but that sort of video often gets ‘flagged’ by people for the wrong reasons and gets me in trouble for sharing.
