Red Lobster filed for bankruptcy back in May of this year and in August they announced the appointment of Damola Adamolekun as the company’s new CEO. At 35 years old, he’s incredibly young for such a prominent position but Damola Adamolekun is no normal leader. He was already named CEO of P.F. Chang’s at just 30 years old.

One of the first officials acts as CEO for Damola Adamolekun was to shut down the company’s expensive ‘Endless Shrimp’ promotion where diners could sit for hours on end eating shrimp.

In a recent sit down with CNN’s Nathaniel Meyersohn, the new Red Lobster CEO discusses the decision to discontinue Endless Shrimp along with his new role.

It is hard to not feel inspired by such a young, competent, and capable CEO even in the wake of Red Lobster’s Chapter 11 filing. There are obviously very difficult decisions that needed to be made and Red Lobster‘s move to close down over 100 locations impacted countless lives but it will also allow the company to set itself up for long term success and that all runs through the 35-year-old CEO.

His life seems like a whirlwind up to this point. Damola Adamolekun was born in Nigeria and raised in Zimbabwe, Amsterdam, Illinois, and Maryland. His parents both old advanced degrees (neurologist and pharmacist). He attended Brown University where he was president of the Brown Investment Club. That came after he opened his first stock portfolio at age 16.

After graduating from Brown, Damola Adamolekun went to Wall Street but was called to the path of P.F. Chang’s CEO not too long after and by 35 years old he has now been CEO of two of the largest and most recognizable restaurant chains in America. It’s truly inspiring.

As for the days of Endless Shrimp being over, I think we’ll all be fine. There are plenty of other places to get your fill of shrimp if you need to.
