PRISCILLA Pointer the Dallas and Carrie actress has died “peacefully in her sleep” aged 100 – as family pay touching tribute.

The actress died on Monday, 28 April at an assisted living facility in Ridgefield, Connecticut, her son has confirmed.

She famously starred as Amy Irving’s mother in the Brian De Palma horror Carrie then appeared with her daughter in six other movies.

In a touching post on Instagram, the news of her death was revealed to devastated fans.

The post said: “Priscilla Pointer, acclaimed stage television and film actress, and mother of David, Katie, and Amy Irving, died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 100, hopefully to run off with her 2 adoring husbands and her many dogs.

“She most definitely will be missed.”
