Prince Harry has seemingly extended the royal family an olive branch by not granting Interviews for the paperback edition of his record-breaking memoir “Spare.”
Harry released the tell-all book in January last year, in which he made some serious allegations against the royal family that further strained his relationship with the firm.
However, some experts believe Prince Harry’s silence amid the release of the “Spare” paperback edition might hint at a persisting “cold war” within the royal family.

Prince Harry To Pause Giving Interviews Amid Release Of The ‘Spare’ Paperback Edition
According to the Daily Mail, Harry will not give interviews to promote the paperback edition of his bestselling memoir, “Spare,” which is scheduled for release in October.
“Harry doesn’t plan to give any interviews to promote the paperback edition,” a friend of the Duke of Sussex claimed.
“The paperback was a part of the book deal he signed, but he is not contractually obliged to promote this edition,” they added. “The reason it has taken longer than usual for the paperback to be published is that the more expensive hardback was still selling well.”
When he first released the bombshell-filled memoir, Harry granted interviews that surprised the monarchy as he made several troubling accusations.

In an ITV News interview with Tom Bradby, for example, he alleged that his family had “gone to bed with the devil” by teaming up with the Press and suggested his father was “not ready” for the responsibilities of parenthood.

Prince Harry Is Allegedly ‘Desperate’ For A Reconciliation
Harry’s new book will not contain new information about him or any other royal family members, seemingly because he’s yearning for a reconciliation with his family.
The Duke of Sussex worsened his already soured relationship with his father in “Spare,” where he called Camilla his “wicked stepmother” and “the other woman” and also claimed in a TV interview that two members of the Royal family had shown contempt for his son Archie’s skin color before he was born.
According to the Daily Mail, his refusal to release new details and grant interviews suggests that he’s “desperate” to reunite with his estranged father and his family.
“There is no doubt that Harry wants to patch things up with the King,” one source said. “His father’s cancer treatment has given things an added sense of urgency.”

The Duke Staying Silent Might Hint At A Persisting ‘Cold War’ Within The Royal Family
Royal expert and historian Dr. Tessa Dunlop offered a different perspective to The Mirror on Harry’s choice to stay silent during the release of the “Spare” paperback edition.
“Those who suggest that this paperback release, with no additional material, is an olive branch, are sadly mistaken,” she told the news outlet. “New material can be conciliatory, Harry might have taken the lead and opened with a different prologue, fore-fronting his regret about how things turned out, and reiterating his good wishes for Kate and the King.”
Dunlop continued, “That he has decided to stay shut is indicative of the cold war which persists within the Royal Family. On the eve of his 40th birthday, there is little sign of a reconciliation. The uncomfortable stalemate persists.”

Prince Harry Is Allegedly ‘Playing A Longer Game’
The royal expert further suggested that Harry is too proud to admit he “regrets” some of the things he has written about in his memoir.
Dunlop said, “My hunch is that deep down Harry regrets some of what he has written, but like so many men, he is way too proud to admit it.”
She claimed that the unchanged text in the memoir is “in line with the Duke’s pledge to move on from looking back,” which suggests he is “playing a longer game.”
“Too much whinging does his brand no favors, and with cancer impacting both his father and sister-in-law Kate, now is not the time to have another pop,” Dunlop added.
King Charles Is Open To A ‘Truce’ With The Duke Of Sussex
If reports of Harry’s unwillingness to grant interviews to promote his new book are accurate, that may help mend his broken relationship with King Charles, who is understood to be open to a reconciliation.
Insiders told the Daily Mail that the monarch has gotten “spiritual nourishment” from his meetings with religious leaders and is now willing to mend the fractured relationship with his second son.
Like the late Queen Elizabeth II, Charles has remained faithful to his Christian beliefs and has reportedly explored its theological aspects and core tenets – including forgiveness.

“Faith has always been a part of Charles’s life and something he’s explored, but since becoming King it is playing a more central role,” the insider shared. “That reliance on faith and quiet contemplation has become a comfort and asset to him and helps him cope with the role as he adapts to being King.”
