The Duke of York, Prince Andrew, is reportedly spiraling following the news of his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson‘s second skin cancer diagnosis. The disgraced royal sees Ferguson as his “rock” and is allegedly scared he might lose her.
In January, Sarah confirmed the news of her health status with a lengthy post, sharing how shocked she was by the news of the second cancer. However, the duchess also noted that she was in “good spirits” and “grateful” for the messages of support.
Prince Andrew Is ‘Terrified’ Sarah Ferguson ‘Is Going To Die’
According to a report, Prince Andrew has been feeling down since his ex-wife, Sarah, the Duchess of York, was diagnosed with her second Cancer disease shortly after undergoing a mastectomy to conquer a breast cancer diagnosis.
“Andrew is terrified Sarah is going to die,” a palace courtier told the National Enquirer. “Sarah is his rock — and financial lifeline! I’m told he was so distraught, he sobbed to aides, ‘What will I do without her?’”
Although the pair have been divorced since 1996, they share a home together at the renowned Royal Lodge at Windsor and still have a good relationship.
The source further noted that “losing [Sarah] would be a bigger disaster [for Andrew] than being forced to tell all the FBI about his sleazy friendship with Jeffrey Epstein.”
While things might sound bleak for the duchess, she has since put on a brave face on social media, noting that she is in “good spirits” despite the distressing news.
Sarah Ferguson Is ‘Grateful’ And In ‘Good Spirits’
Sarah is not letting her latest health challenge affect her as she revealed that she is in a good head space and is grateful for all the well-wishes she has received since the news of her second cancer diagnosis was disclosed.
Taking to her Instagram page, the duchess stated, “I have been taking some time to myself as I have been diagnosed with malignant melanoma, a form of skin cancer, my second cancer diagnosis within a year after I was diagnosed with breast cancer this summer and underwent a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery.”
She continued, “It was thanks to the great vigilance of my dermatologist that the melanoma was detected when it was. Naturally, another cancer diagnosis has been a shock, but I’m in good spirits and grateful for the many messages of love and support.”
Shortly after sharing the post, Ferguson received kind messages from friends and fans, showing support for her amid her battle with cancer.
Supermodel Naomi Campbell was one of the famous names who left a message of support, noting, “Praying for recovery seeming love [heart emoji] Naomi.”
Lizzie Cundy, a former friend of the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, also left a comment that read: “Sending huge love to you, Sarah,” along with a red heart emoji and a praying hands emoji.
Sarah Ferguson Speaks On The Importance Of Checking For Symptoms
In her heartfelt post, Sarah noted that her health condition should serve as an example of why it is necessary to do regular checkups and look out for the “emergence of new moles.”
“I believe my experience underlines the importance of checking the size, shape, color, and texture and emergence of new moles that can be a sign of melanoma and urge anyone who is reading this to be diligent,” the duchess said.
Sarah then thanked the medical teams that supported her for both her experiences with cancer, noting that she’s resting at her home with her loved ones by her side.
She stated: “I am incredibly thankful to the medical teams that have supported me through both of these experiences with cancer and to the MAYRLIFE Clinic for taking gentle care of me in the past weeks, allowing me time for recuperation. I am resting with family at home now, feeling blessed to have their love and support.”
The Duchess’ Skin Cancer Was Discovered While She Was Undergoing Reconstructive Surgery
Sarah was diagnosed with malignant melanoma, a type of skin cancer that starts in the melanocytes. This discovery was made while she was undergoing reconstructive surgery after having a mastectomy to fight her previous breast cancer issue.
“Following her diagnosis with an early form of breast cancer this summer, Sarah, Duchess of York, has now been diagnosed with malignant melanoma,” a rep for Sarah told Us Weekly late last month.
They added, “Her dermatologist asked that several moles be removed and analyzed at the same time as the Duchess was undergoing reconstructive surgery following her mastectomy, and one of these has been identified as cancerous.”
According to research, about 25% of melanoma comes from moles, and Ferguson’s situation aligns with this category. While the precise cause of all melanomas remains unclear, factors such as exposure to ultraviolet light and genetic influences are considered contributing elements.
