TWO new features have been added to your car that will save your most prized possessions from falling out.
A content creator on YouTube posted a video detailing two new features in the 2020-2024 Toyota Highlander.
In his video, YouTuber Born To Drive showed the dashboard-mounted storage cubbies which are strategically placed to maximize cargo space.
Aside from extra space, the user points out that the cubby spaces are lined with a texturized material, allowing the items “to stay there and not move during driving”.
The car has another feature above the storage area called a “lip”.
The lip stops items from falling out if you suddenly break or accelerate.
The user points out that this feature is especially helpful because it preemptively stops items from falling into the passenger’s or driver’s legs “and potentially cause a distraction that could lead to a dangerous scenario on the road”.
“It’s really nice that Toyota included these for storage, for families, but also that they’re safely integrated and very practical as well.”
A gap exists between the passenger side cubby and the bottom cubby below the infotainment system.
This gap allows you to route wires you can plug into the infotainment system.
It also allows you to store extra-long items between the two cubbies, as there is no divider.
The 2020-2024 Toyota Highlander comes with many other hidden features.
The content creator shows how the three-row SUV comes with an electronic parking brake.
The brake not only activates the rear wheels but also has an auto-hold function located in the center console.
The button allows the driver to take their foot off the brake pedal, even if the vehicle is still in drive.
“Once you take your foot off the brake pedal the car will remain stationary, even if you’re on a slight slope – upward slope or downward slope – or on a level ground,” said the creator.
