Polaris have been announced as the special guests to support Beartooth on their UK and EU tour later this year.
The Sydney metalcore outfit recently wrapped-up a successful UK and European tour of their own, which almost completely sold-out, following the release of their ‘Fatalism’ album in September.
And now they’ll be heading back out on the road across the same region later this year, for a run of shows that supports the release of Beartooth’s own recent album, ‘The Surface’.

Speaking about the themes of ‘Fatalism’ album closer ‘All In Vain’, for our ‘Track By Track’ feature, Polaris drummer Daniel Furnari explained:
“Like our opening tracks, we usually instinctively know a closer when we find one. As the songs took form it became impossible to imagine this track going anywhere else in the record.
“Our existence is the only thing we know for certain, and yet in a very real sense it is inherently meaningless, temporary and inconsequential outside of the sphere we occupy.
“We create grand narratives around our lives, worship hollow idols and attach meaning to objects, experiences, people and interactions; partly because that’s the way we are wired, but also because otherwise we are not truly living, merely surviving.
“One day in the not-so-distant future, none of it will matter or be remembered. Our lives are not much more than a metaphor.”
Beartooth’s Caleb Shomo, meanwhile, described the overall view of their album ‘The Surface’ in our ‘The Album Story’ feature as:
“Regardless of how it was received, this record was going to be what it was gonna be. But it was very affirming.
“It was one of these universal affirmations of ‘Hey, you’re doing the right thing and you’re on your correct path. Just keep going.’”
