Going to a P!NK concert is proving to be quite an experience: one moment, a fan is throwing her mother’s ashes onto the stage; the next, the singer is beefing with an anti-circumcision protestor. The odd headlines continued during P!NK’s Australian tour on Friday, as the singer was forced to pause her concert in Sydney after a woman went into labor in the pit.
P!NK riffed as the venue’s paramedics tended to the woman and helped escort her out of the audience. “Is it Alecia or Alex being born?” she joked, referencing her real name, Alecia Beth Moore. “I feel like we shouldn’t be looking. Everyone give her her privacy!”
“Wow, ‘Our Song,’ that was the one that did it?” P!NK remarked. “Wouldn’t have called that one! I thought it would’ve been ‘Get The Party Started’ or ‘Never Not Gonna Dance Again.’”
She then congratulated the mom-to-be, saying, “That’s exciting! I don’t even know what to say. But we have to sing now. Good luck! It’s gonna be great! You’re gonna do great.”
Incidentally, this is not the first time such an incident has happened at a P!NK show. In 2019, a woman gave birth to a baby girl during a concert in Liverpool.
What else does PINK’s tour have in store? American audiences can see for themselves when the singer launches her “2024 Summer Carnival Tour” with Sheryl Crow as a special guest. Tickets to all of P!NK’s upcoming shows can be purchased here.
