Going to Neverland never gets old. And that’s a good thing, because it’s time to go back with Peter Pan & Wendy. The live-action movie comes from director David Lowery (The Green Knight, Pete’s Dragon) and looks like a pretty faithful adaptation of the J.M. Barrie book—with an intriguing cast. Wendy Darling meets Peter Pan, the boy who refuses to grow up. Then Wendy and her brothers head off with Peter and Tinker Bell to Neverland. Adventure ensues as the Darlings discover a world beyond their imagination. The first Peter Pan & Wendy trailer teases what’s ahead.
We hardly recognized Jude Law as Captain Hook. The cast also includes Alexander Molony as Peter, Ever Anderson as Wendy, Yara Shahidi as Tinker Bell, and Alyssa Wapanatâhk as Tiger Lily. All the characters you know and love in a new story. What’s not to love?!
In a statement, Lowery, who also co-wrote Peter Pan & Wendy, said:
In making Peter Pan & Wendy, we set out to craft a film that honors both the original J.M. Barrie text and Walt Disney’s animated adaptation; we wanted to invigorate our retelling with emotional sincerity, an open heart, and a grand yearning for adventure. Hundreds of incredible artists spent many years bringing this film to the screen; I’m excited for audiences to see their work, to go on this ride, and to rediscover an evergreen tale from a new perspective.
Peter Pan & Wendy will premiere exclusively on Disney+ on April 28.
