HE’LL BE MISSED
Peter’s friend, Bill Stetz, wrote a heartwarming tribute to the late star on Facebook.
“It is with a sad heart that today, I convey that my good friend Peter Crombie has passed away,” he said.
“For those who knew him, he was a gentle and loyal friend of soft words and expressive work as an actor and a writer.
“Rest in peace, Peter.”
Peter’s other friend, Jay Russell, wrote, “Some sad news (and for those on here who might have known him).
“I learned yesterday that my long-time friend and collaborator, Peter Crombie, has passed away. I lost touch with Peter several years ago and was unsure of his whereabouts.
“It was a loss then, and a bigger loss now. He was a wonderful, caring, gracious person, and a fabulous actor – a Yale Drama School grad and you would know him from his countless character roles.”
He concluded: “Peter granted me his great talent, playing the ‘bad guy in My Dog Skip’ and did a perfect job of scaring dog lovers around the world. I hope he is at peace now.
“Happy trails, maestro.”
ALL THE LOVE
More of his friends on social media shared other touching messages for their dearly departed friend.
Daniel De Raey said, “Peter Crombie, a warm and wonderful person, as well as both an actor and a writer of note, passed away yesterday.
“He was loved by a great many people, I am one and leaves us too early and grieving. Rest in peace, Pete.”
Another person wrote, “Exit Peter Crombie. Wonderful actor & writer & human. Loved by his many friends.
“Happy trails, my brother.”
Other Facebook users commented on the post and said: “Crazy Joe Davola. Such an incredible character actor.”
Another fan wrote: “So sorry to hear the news, my friend. It’s strange how with some actors, you never know their real names and just think of them as a special character they played.
“Peter will always be crazy Joe Davola to me, but I’m glad that you and he were actually friends and you got to know the man outside of what most people get to know. May God Bless.”
