Lance Reddick is not returning for Percy Jackson and the Olympians season two

Lance Reddick sadly passed away in March 2023 at the age of 60, and now, there’s an update on his role in season two of Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

If you don’t know, Lance portrayed the role of Zeus, and it was unclear if producers were going to recast the role for future seasons of the series.

Now, it has been confirmed that the role has been recast.

Courtney B. Vance has officially been cast in the role.

“I can’t tell you how excited I am to join the extraordinary cast of ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians!’” Courtney told Variety. “There are few moments in an actor’s career when you can honestly say that you’re about to board a series that has such a devoted fan base filled with characters beloved around the world and is based on a wildly successful book series. I know that stepping into this role of Zeus will be a memorable experience and I’ll be giving my brother, Lance Reddick, who left us way too soon, a heavenly hug.”
