Pedro Pascal has long been open about his struggles with anxiety. During the Fantastic Four press tour, however, that social anxiety seems to being fixated on by fans.

While out promoting The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Pascal’s co-star Vanessa Kirby has emerged as an outlet for Pascal’s apparent anxiety. At San Diego Comic-Con last year, for example, Pascal looked visibly anxious onstage, leading Kirby to immediately take his hand to comfort him.

Since then, their interactions — like hand-holding, arm strokes, and cheek touches — have sparked online reactions, with people seemingly now taking issue with it.

“Pedro Pascal the first guy not allowed to have a work wife,” one viral tweet defending Pascal joked.

Alongside Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic and the Oscar-nominated Kirby as Invisible Woman/Sue Storm, The Fantastic Four: First Steps also stars Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch.

Additional cast members include Julia Garner as the Silver Surfer, Ralph Ineson as Galactus, Paul Walter Hauser as Mole Man, Natasha Lyonne, and Sarah Niles.
