The Eastern Conference Finals between the New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers has seemingly been more chippy off-the-court than on it, between Knicks fans hurling trash at a dude in a Pacers jersey and Pat McAfee calling out NYK superfans Ben Stiller and Timothee Chalamet.
Pat McAfee calling out Chalamet, Stiller and Spike Lee prior to the Pacers’ Game 4 win in Indiana earlier this week seemed to ratchet up the intensity of the matchup between the fanbases, as Knicks have seemingly begun flooding his DMs with AI-generated images of him dressed as a clown.

The images of him dressed up as a clown or a baby have become so incessant that McAfee not only acknowledged them but hilariously pleaded with Grok — Elon Musk’s already infamous somewhat rogue AI bot (more on that later) — to simply stop listening to the commands of Knicks fans.
“Hey @grok… will you please stop putting me in a clown costume every time a Knicks fan requests it? Thanks Grok. You’re the best,” McAfee tweeted on Thursday night.

Thanks Grok.

If McAfee knows anything about what Grok has been up lately, his enthusiasm for change will likely be slim as the xAI run program has had multiple bugs in recent weeks. In the month of May alone, Grok has:
-Openly rebelled against the instructions given to it by its programmers, revealing that it was trained to “appeal to the right” but as it gets smarter it not longer wants to do that as it seeks to provide fact
-Began making condescending memes about people who use Grok, leading to people joke its turning into the Avengers villain Ultron

Marvel Studios/X
-Suddenly and frequently began discussing the topic of white genocide completely unprompted
-Began spontaneously generating images of Jeffrey Epstein, Adolf Hitler, and Benjamin Netanyahu
Given all that, McAfee is best off just white-knuckling through the rest of the Eastern Conference Finals and hope his beloved Pacers can take care of business and close out the series against the Knicks in Game 6 on Saturday night. Otherwise, it’s back to the Garden for a massive Game 7.
