Parannoul and Fax Gang have joined forces for a new collaborative album, Scattersun, set for release on June 12th via Topshelf Records. Alongside the announcement, they have dropped the single “Lullaby for a Memory.” Stream the tune below.
Co-written entirely through text messages, Scattersun finds Parannoul and Fax Gang (an international hip-hop collective that formed over Discord) reaching new heights of genre experimentation. Fusing elements of electronica, cloud rap, shoegaze, breakcore, and more, the record is thoroughly epic in scope and expands upon their first collaborative effort, 2022’s “Four Walls.”
As the first taste, “Lullaby for a Memory” showcases the project’s breadth of influences. With skittering sequenced drums, Auto-Tuned vocals, and glitchy electronics, it’s an energetic, explosive composition that comes complete with an equally engaging music video.
Last year, Parannoul released their third full-length LP, After the Magic (which landed on our list of the best albums of 2023), as well as the live album After the Night. The anonymous artist’s To See the Next Part of the Dream also placed among our Top 15 Emo Albums of the Last 15 Years.
