Kindness and manners are so back, thanks to everyone’s favorite little British bear, Paddington. In the new trailer for the franchise’s third installment, titled Paddington in Peru, our titular bear is planning to return to to the South America to visit his Aunt Lucy in Lima with his family, the Browns, but an unexpected development sends them into the jungle instead. Watch the trailer below.
While Ben Whishaw is continuing to bring Paddington to life, Emily Mortimer is taking over the role of Mrs. Brown from Sally Hawkins. The trailer also provides a first look at Olivia Colman and Antonio Banderas, both newcomers to the series. Meanwhile, Director Paul King is not returning to the helm after leading the first two film installments, but remained on board in a story capacity.
“After ten years of working on the Paddington movies, I feel absurdly protective of the little bear, and I’m delighted that Dougal will be there to hold his paw as he embarks on his third big-screen adventure,” King shared of incoming director Dougal Wilson.
Paddington in Peru will first premiere in the UK on November 8th, 2024, before sailing over to American theaters on January 17th, 2025.
