Fresh from their support of Skindred for their huge UK shows, P.O.D. have shared their new single ‘Lies We Tell Ourselves’.
The San Diego nu-metal outfit are set to drop their 11th studio album ‘VERITAS’ on May 03 via Mascot Records.
As well as the brand new, introspective new single, the album has previously been teased by tracks ‘Drop’ (featuring Lamb of God singer Randy Blythe), ‘Afraid To Die’ and ‘I Won’t Bow Down’.
Describing the new track ‘Lies We Tell Ourselves’, P.O.D. frontman Sonny Sandoval has said simply, “Everybody lies to themselves – just don’t believe it,” whilst guitarist Marcos Curiel has added:
“As hate is to love, death is to life, lies is to VERITAS (truth).
“This song resonates the struggle and hope which keeps us from truly believing that the ‘lies within ourselves’ become a reality. Our struggle. Our truth.”

Next month, the band will embark on a North American tour with Bad Wolves, Norma Jean and Blind Channel serving as support.

In our review of the recent Skindred show at OVO Arena Wembley, Rock Sound wrote:
“To close their grandest night of all, Benji [Webbe, Skindred’s frontman] invited P.O.D. frontman Sonny back onstage, who had helped open the show with aplomb (along with As Everything Unfolds).
“The two bands share an affinity in their uncompromising journeys, yet Benji had a tradition to initiate that only Skindred can claim as their own: The Newport Helicopter.”
