STARS are beginning to arrive on the red carpet for this year’s Academy Awards – and there have already been some mishaps.
Laverne Cox, who is hosting the E! red carpet coverage, made a huge blunder by asking actress Marlee Matlin a question and putting the microphone up to her face.
Marlee is deaf and communicates via sign language. The actress pushed the microphone over to her interpreter before responding to the question.
“Laverne did NOT just put the mic in front of marlee matlin for her to speak….,” one viewer reacted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Just watched Laverne Cox put the microphone in Marlee Matlin’s face instead of her interpreter’s,” another noted.
Meanwhile, actress Liza Koshy accidentally tripped on the Oscars red carpet and went all the way down before being helped up and joking that there was a “manhole” on the carpet.
The 2024 Oscars will air live at 7 pm ET and can be streamed on Sling TV, Direct TV, or Fubo TV.
