Netflix’s anthology series Beef has now set its sights on Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan as the leads for Season 2. According to Deadline, the actors are in negotiations to star in the second installment of the acclaimed show.
The report adds that the second season will be centered on a pair of feuding couples, but has not been officially greenlit yet. Isaac and Mulligan would be stepping into the roles previously rumored to be for Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway.
Earlier this year, Gyllenhaal and Hathaway were reported to be top choices for Beef creator Lee Sung Jin alongside rising star Charles Melton and Priscilla’s Cailee Spaeny.
Isaac’s most recent foray into TV was the 2022 Disney+ Marvel series Moon Knight. He’s currently filming for Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein and has also been tapped to star in the vampire movie Flesh of the Gods alongside Kristen Stewart.
Earlier this year, Mulligan earned a Best Actress Oscar nomination for her portrayal of Felicia Montealegre in Bradley Cooper’s Maestro. In 2018, she starred as Detective Inspector Kip Glaspie in the BBC series Collateral.
Steven Yeun and Ali Wong starred in the first season of Beef, which we named one of the best TV shows of 2023.
