ORLANDO Bloom announced Katy Perry by her real name as he presented her with the iconic Vanguard award at the MTV VMAs on Wednesday.
Katy, 39, was MTV’s guest of honor at the 2024 Video Music Awards this week, when her longtime partner Orlando, 47, presented her with the award in the sweetest way imaginable.

The hitmaker, who is also a mother of one, accepted the Video Vanguard last night at the VMAs, which came as she performed a 10-song medley of her biggest and best hits.
Her partner, Orlando Bloom, presented Katy with the award. And when he did, he introduced her in a very sweet way.
Fans were stunned when Orlando, whom Katy has been in a relationship with since 2016, announced the winner of the award as Katheryn Hudson, with some likely confused.
“Give it up for our newest Video Vanguard, Katheryn Hudson,” Orlando said on Wednesday night when presenting the award in the UBS Arena.
Orlando sweetly referenced the singer’s birth name, before adding, “Katy Perry!”
He then added, “You fell in love with her as Katy Perry, I fell in love with her as Katheryn Hudson.”
“You know her as a global superstar who brings love, light and her unique sense of humor into every song she writes and every music video she creates.”
He then continued his gushing speech ahead of presenting her with the award, adding, “I know her as a mother, as a partner who brings that same love and joy to our family.
“In moments when we’ve most needed it, her music and the remarkable world she creates have brought a sense of joy and laughter, inspiring generations of people from all over the world.
“She loves with her whole heart, and it’s kind of irresistible. I see her reflected everywhere in our home, in her love for her work, but especially in her love for her fans.”
He concluded with, “Congratulations on this honor, baby, I’m so proud of you.”
‘YOU’RE MAKING ME CRY’
Fans have since reacted to Orlando’s speech and how he referred to Katy by her real full name.
“Orlando constantly calling Katy her full name of Katheryn Hudson SEVERAL times is just so funny to me,” penned one person on X.

“Honestly no better choice than Orlando to hand her the vanguard, I cried at ‘You fell in love with her as Katy Perry. I fell in love with her as Katheryn Hudson’,” wrote a fourth.
“YOU FELL IN LOVE WITH HER AS KATY PERRY. I FELL IN LOVE WITH HER AS KATHERYN HUDSON?! ORLANDO YOURE MAKING ME CRY,” added a fifth.
And a sixth person said, “Oh Mr Bloom ate here,” referring to how good his speech was.

The former American Idol judge stunned in a distressed two-piece gown while displaying an oily and wet look when she and her beau stormed the red carpet before the event last night.
On X, fans shared their thoughts on the singer’s outfit, with many swooning over her ageless appearance.
“She CHANGED history with this outfit,” gushed one.
“Face and body cards forever. Immaculate omg,” a second person exclaimed.
A third said, “She looks GOOD.”
