When the mysterious deep space research vessel USCSS Maginot crash-lands on Earth, “Wendy” (Sydney Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat. FX’s Alien: Earth is created for television and executive produced by Noah Hawley.

The release of Alien: Earth comes about one year after the latest film in the Alien franchise, Alien: Romulus, was released in theaters. Directed by Fede Alvarez, Alien: Romulus starred starred Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu, and grossed just over $350 million worldwide against an $80 million budget.

Given the success of Romulus, a sequel is in the works, with director Fede Alvarez suggesting production could begin later in 2025. Furthermore, the latest film in the Predator franchise, Predator: Badlands, included teases to the Xenomorph, suggesting another Alien vs. Predator movie could be on the way.
