The eagerly awaited concerts will be the first time the Gallagher brothers have performed together in the US since 2008.

It follows the announcement of reunion shows in the UK and Ireland next summer, which saw the brothers criticised for the “dynamic pricing” ticket policy.

The band are expected to play in New York and Los Angeles, as well as Chicago and Boston.

A source said: “Noel and Liam will be announcing their shows in the US on Friday.

“It’s going to be a handful of massive dates in major cities. Brits living in New York and Los Angeles should have a decent chance at getting themselves a ticket.

“Oasis don’t want a repeat of the issues they had with tickets for their home gigs but they are expecting the same huge demand they saw here.”

Oasis have sold out seven nights at Wembley plus dates in Cardiff, Manchester, Edinburgh and Dublin.

US fans have begged the brothers to go stateside, despite Oasis never enjoying the same success there as they did in their homeland.

It declared: “If we need to put up a billboard to get these guys to come to the States, here it is.”

More than 10 million fans from 158 countries tried to get tickets to their initial run of shows.

Millions were left disappointed while even those who got one were furious after the price went up while they waited in lengthy online queues.

The Competition and Markets Authority have since launched a probe into sellers Ticketmaster.

Noel last played in the US with Oasis on the Dig Out Your Soul tour — and believes their relative lack of success over the Atlantic is due to the band “not giving a f***”.

They never had a No1 there before their split in 2009 — with 1997 album Be Here Now getting to No2, while 1995’s Wonderwall is the only single to get into the top 15.

Manchester-born Noel said last year: “America, they couldn’t handle the fact that we didn’t give a f*** about anything.

“I think that’s the reason we’ve never really had a No1 album in America. They wouldn’t go the extra mile for us because we wouldn’t go the extra mile for them.

“That’s why we’ve never been nominated for a Grammy – you’ve got to do all that stuff over there, you’ve got to kind of fake it a little bit and we just couldn’t do it.”

HISTORY OF SPLITS IN STATES

THE Gallagher brothers will be hoping that their coming shows in the US go more smoothly then past occasions Oasis have toured there.

On the first night of their maiden North America tour in 1994, Noel temporarily quit after Liam chucked a tambourine at his head on a drug-fuelled night in Los Angeles.

He took around £500 from their manager, got his passport and travelled to San Francisco. He later rejoined the band after they patched things up.

In 1996, Liam refused to join them on another US tour — because he was house-hunting with actress Patsy Kensit, his then-girlfriend.

He eventually joined up with them a few days later.

But it was then furious Noel’s turn to walk out again out on the band.

This led to show cancellations as they brothers briefly split once more.
