NORMANI has avoided accusations that she has been running her fan account after being caught red-handed in a deleted tweet.
The singer is at the center of controversy after she reportedly took a screenshot of her Instagram account while logged in and posted it on a fan account for herself, called Normani Nation.
Normani, 27, spoke to The Cut this week in a new interview where she calmly confessed that she’s “definitely heavily involved” with fan pages.
However, she did not confirm whether her team is behind the Normani Nation page on X.
After the publication pressed for more information regarding the issue, her publicist stepped in to ask that they move on and “skip the question.”
SUSPICIOUS!
Earlier this week, fans noticed the incriminating photo, leaving many to assume that she runs her own stan profile.
“So little fans she had to become one herself,” one critic wrote on Reddit, opening up the conversation.
“The Twitter ‘stan’ account took a screenshot of Normani’s official insta and posted it. But whoever took that screenshot has access to Normani’s official insta, meaning Normani herself (or someone very close to her) is running the Twitter stan account,” a second explained.
“Normani micro nation,” a third joked, while a fourth confessed, “I’m catching so much secondhand embarrassment oh my gosh.”
“That’s called self love,” a fifth laughed.
“This is the most embarrassing thing a celeb has ever done,” another claimed.
LIFE AFTER FIFTH HARMONY
Normani, formally known as Normani Kordei Hamilton, is an American singer who rose to fame in the girl group Fifth Harmony.
Since going solo, fans of the pop star have been anxiously awaiting her debut album.
In February, the Atlanta native dropped a bombshell about the release.
She posted a cover shoot on Instagram of her straddling a massive black rocketship in a black lingerie set.
The outfit consisted of a plunging bra that exposed her cleavage, underwear, and chain accessories.
Normani captioned the post, “Cryingg typing this [right now]. DOPAMINE THE ALBUM.”
The songwriter’s hair was left down in a blowout and she sported bangs in the pictures.
One day before the announcement, the singer deleted all content from her social accounts.
Then, on her TikTok page, she seemed to give fans a preview of a song from the album.
DOPAMINE
Fans were thrilled to hear what Normani had planned for the release.
On X, formerly Twitter, they shared their thoughts on her new era.
“Normani I’m gonna faint this is the most sickening cover ever!” one gushed in all caps.
“The nation is screaming [right now],” a second agreed.
“Normani!!!!! Screaming crying it’s your time it’s all about you!!” a third penned in all caps.
“Omgggg Normani is finally dropping her album,” a fourth shared.
“It’s been a long time coming. SEATED and ready for your serve sis,” a fifth posted.
“It only took 5.5 years but we have BEEN seated. now drop a date so we don’t gotta wait another 5.5 years.”
“The moment we’ve all been waiting for,” another supported.
BIG BREAKUP
Normani debuted on The X Factor in 2012 with fellow Fifth Harmony members Camila Cabello, Dinah Jade, Lauren Jauregui, and Ally Brooke.
The group released two studio albums together and one EP before splitting.
Camila was the first to leave the group for a solo endeavor, leaving the other four girls behind to release a self-titled album in 2017.
But shortly after, the remaining members of Fifth Harmony also called it quits.
