Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross picked up the 2025 Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score for their work on the movie ‘Challengers’.
The ceremony took place in Hollywood last night (January 05) and the pair were presented the award by Elton John and Brandi Carlisle.
Accepting the honor, Ross said “This really means a lot, particularly in this special moment. First I’d like to thank my best friend, my musical partner, the great Trent Reznor. The music never felt like a safe choice, but it always felt like the right one. I’d like to thank the maestro, the visionary director, our friend Luca Guadagnino… To be honest, we always thought we’d get the call ‘Can you just turn it down a little?’ But it never came, and here we are.”

This is their third Golden Globe win for movie scoring and they have been nominated a total of six times. They will next take on the soundtrack for the upcoming ‘TRON: Ares’ which is set for release later this year. This project will be their first movie soundtrack to fall under the Nine Inch Nails name.
