Singer Nicole Scherzinger is 45 and in the best shape of her life—just look at her social media for proof! Scherzinger shared a video of herself wearing white leggings and a matching cropped tank top, doing yoga handstands on a beautiful beach. “Life is a balance between what we can control and what we cannot. I am learning to live between struggle and surrender,” she captioned the impressive post. Scherzinger works hard and knows how to enjoy a balanced life—here’s how she stays happy, fit, and strong.
Scherzinger’s workout regimen changes depending on work. “I’m not on tour and I’m not doing music videos, so I’m not as crazy about exercise as I usually am,” she told Netdoctor. “So I’m a bit more lenient on myself. If I’m honest with you, I work out more for my frame of mind and to prepare me for the shows. I really love and care about my job and the live shows, and I want to arrive feeling as though I’m ready to take on anything and give everything. And workouts help me get in that frame of mind.”
Scherzinger struggles with motivation like anyone else, but never regrets a workout. “I don’t always want to work out; I’ve got to make myself,” she told Cosmopolitan. “I feel so much better about myself when I do. It makes me feel amazing. Personally, I love to run or do yoga, I feel amazing after that from the inside out.”
Scherzinger no longer restricts her food or follows fad diets. “I have been on every diet in the world, so I don’t like diets because they only seem to last for so long – and you really mess with your metabolism,” she told Netdoctor. “It’s more about balance and moderation. If I deprive myself of things, I tend to go wild afterwards. I think your body tends to crave what you give it. If you’re going to eat a lot of crisps and French fries, you’re going to crave that. If you drink a lot of water, eat more rice, pulses, salads and fish your body is going to crave that, too. If you want to eat a bit more desert, have a little bit if it’s going to satisfy your sweet tooth. It’s balance.”
Scherzinger’s beauty mantra is based on inner happiness. “Meat is beautiful on a woman and curves are beautiful on a woman. But ultimately it’s the glow and the beauty from within that really shines,” she told Cosmopolitan. “If you feel great within from taking care of yourself more, then people see that and are attracted to that more than anything.”
Scherzinger is all about making conscious choices with her health and wellness. “Everybody is different, so you have to listen to your body,” she told Netdoctor. “And you have to listen to it by taking care of yourself the best that you can. Getting in a little bit of a walk or a workout, sleeping when you can, and just trying to make conscious choices. Then you have your days where you have your fish and chips. You want your Sunday roast with extra gravy – go for it on that Sunday! And then get back into it.”
