Scherzinger tries not to eat too late at night, preferring an early dinner. “When you eat late at night, you’re going against your body’s circadian rhythm,” says Alexis Supan, RD. “At night is when we eat the unhealthy stuff — chips, cookies, ice cream — as part of our nighttime relaxation routine. But it’s also mindless eating.”
Scherzinger enjoys outdoor workouts, especially running and hiking. “The nice thing about hiking is that it exists along an entire continuum, from a gentle walk on a flat wooded path to mountain climbing,” says Dr. Aaron L. Baggish, associate director of the Cardiovascular Performance Program at Harvard-affiliated Massachusetts General Hospital. “There’s a real sense of peace and composure you get from being outside and away from everything.”
Scherzinger’s favorite breakfast is a powerhouse of good protein. “My favorite breakfast is poached eggs with avocado toast and smoked salmon,” she tells Daily Mail Australia. “Lunchtime I’ll usually snack on something small and healthy, and then I’ll usually eat out in the evenings. “
Scherzinger is passionate about the impact her craft has on her overall wellbeing. “To me, music is emotion,” she tells PEOPLE. “Music is story. I just want to go back to my love of music, my love of singing, my love of telling stories through songs, connecting on a much deeper level through performance, having people transcend through these performances and be moved, inspired or changed in some way.”
Scherzinger is a big fan of F45 workouts, which combine high-intensity interval training (HIIT) with circuit and functional training. “I just tried F45 here in Australia and I really liked it. I think it’s important to find a few different classes or workouts which you enjoy, whether that’s swimming or going for a run,” she says. “Mixing everything up gives me the best results. Stretching and hydrating are so important in making progress with your fitness goals too.”
