NICK Cannon has opened up about his mental health diagnosis, saying ‘I need help’.
The 44-year-old, who has fathered 12 children, opened up about having narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) during a recent episode of his Counsel Culture podcast.
The America’s Got Talent presenter told Dr. Cheyenne Bryant that he was “clinically diagnosed” with the mental health condition.
According to the May Clinic, narcissistic personality disorder is where people have an unreasonably high sense of their own importance.
Since then he’s spoken out about how he’s been coping.
“I feel like there’s so many labels out there, but it’s like, to be able to embrace it and say, ‘Look, I’m healing. I need help. Show me,'” he told People.
“I just embrace mental health and therapy in such a strong way.
“To be able to say I’m an example for others, but also be healing during the self-process works too.”
The star is still coming to terms with the diagnosis – but confessed that he “always knew” he was neurodivergent.
He added: “I still don’t understand it all the way, but I kind of always wanted to get tested for it.
“I did a bunch of tests.
“I’ve been diagnosed with ADHD.
“Even as a kid it was dyslexia, but just knowing that I’m just a neurodivergent individual, I kind of always knew.”
Nick previously said on the podcast: “I’ve taken all the power away from the term narcissism ’cause I’ve researched it and I understand it
“Call me whatever you want… now if I didn’t know what it was, then I have issue with it.”
He also told Dr. Cheyenne Bryant that he has most of the “markers” that are associated with the disorder.
Nick is a father to 12 kids from six different women.
The Masked Singer host welcomed his first children, twins Moroccan and Monroe, with Mariah Carey in 2011.
He also shares Golden Sagon and Rise Messiah with Brittany Bell.
Nick and Abby De Rosa also have twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir, as well as Beautiful Zeppelin.
The star is also dad to Legendary Love who he shares with Bre Tiesi.
LaNisha Cole and Nick are also proud parents to Onyx Ice Cole.
Nick and Alyssa share daughter Halo Marie, and sadly lost son Zen at five months.
The star regularly talks about being a dad to many children with different women, and a busy work schedule.
Nick said during an episode of The Checkup with Dr Agus: “Being a father of multiple kids, it’s always the biggest guilt on me is that I don’t get to spend enough time with all my children.
“One because I’m constantly working and two because I’m just spread thin.”
Earlier this year the dad confessed that he has “no plans” for anymore anytime soon.
He told People: “I’m chilling right now.
“There’s no plans on the horizon as of yet.
“It’s so funny, everybody’s always trying to get me to have more kids.
“It’s like, 12 ain’t enough?”
