Next Gen NYC’s Charlie Zukkour admits he’s ‘unemployed’ & has only $1.5k in bank account in his 2023 bankruptcy filing

NEXT Gen NYC star Charlie Zukkour admitted he was unemployed and only had $1,500 in his bank account in his 2023 bankruptcy filing.

The U.S. Sun can exclusively reveal that the star of Next Gen NYC, who calls himself a crypto trader, filed for bankruptcy just two years ago.

In the Chapter 7 filing, which is a type of bankruptcy that involves a trustee selling nonexempt assets to pay creditors, Charlie, 30, essentially claimed he had no assets whatsoever to sell.

In the documents, he admitted he doesn’t own any property, and says he rents his residence.

However, the address he listed appears to be his parents’ New York City penthouse.

During the second episode of the show, Charlie’s roommate quipped he never appeared to have a job in all the time they’d lived together.

In the filing, Charlie admitted as much.

Charlie ticked the box marked, “Not employed,” and then said he was expecting to make more money soon by “getting a new job.”

He listed monetary assets as just $1,500 in a checking account.

He also said he had about $1,000 worth of clothes and $2,000 worth of electronics including a TV, cellphone, computer and printer scanner.

The self-proclaimed crypto trader also admitted he had no bonds, no mutual funds or publicly traded stocks, no government bonds, no retirement or pension accounts, no annuities, no security deposits owed to him, no education IRA, no trusts, no equitable or future interests, no health or life insurance, no interest in property owed to him from someone who died and no tax refunds owed to him.

He listed his liabilities as coming from just two credit cards.

One was an American Express card with which he owed $4,809, and another was a Chase credit card for which he owed $33,216.

In the filing, he said he made $1,000 a month in income, which he said came from friends and family.

He also claimed he had $1,000 a month in expenses which he listed as: $110 cell phone bill, $200 for food and housekeeping supplies, $50 for laundry, $50 for personal care, $90 for medical & dental expenses, $200 for transportation, and $300 for entertainment, clubs and recreation.

In 2022, he reported $32,000 in earnings on his tax filing.

Charlie had to take a personal financial management course and a credit counseling course.

By July 2023, his debts were discharged and his case was closed.

‘I DON’T THINK HE MAKES MONEY’

During the second episode of Next Gen NYC, Charlie’s unique financial situation was discussed as his roommate, OnlyFans creator Dylan Geick, opened up to the cameras.

When a producer asked Dylan how his roommate Charlie made money, he said:  “I don’t think he does, I don’t think he makes money.”

The scene then cut to Charlie’s dad’s apartment, where his father, investment banker Anwar Zakkour, asked Charlie how his crypto trading is going.

The Bravo star responded: “Bitcoin dropped like 25% in a day… I just buy more every day.”

Anwar said: “Buying and holding isn’t a trading strategy, it’s an investment strategy.”

Later in the episode, Brooks Marks and Riley Burruss were in a confessional, and they complained that Charlie was speaking disparagingly about their backgrounds as the children of Real Housewives stars.

Brooks’ mother is Meredith Marks of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, and Riley’s mom is Kandi Burruss of Real Housewives of Atlanta.

NO MONEY, MORE PROBLEMS

Money issues seem to be a uniting thread for several of the cast members and their families.

As The U.S. Sun previously revealed, fellow Next Gen NYC star, Ava Dash, was evicted from her posh TriBeCa pad last year.

According to the initial landlord-tenant filing, the property owner alleged that Ava and three other tenants occupied the apartment but had failed to pay rent for four months at $9,995 per month, along with an additional $3,872.90 for a fifth month, covering the period from July to March 2024.

The landlord requested the court issue “a warrant to remove respondents from possession of the premises together with the costs and disbursements of this proceeding.”

By October 2024, the landlord successfully obtained an eviction notice.

During the premiere episode of Next Gen NYC, a brief shot of an eviction notice on a door hinted at what might be a future storyline on the show.

The Bravo series follows a group of mostly 20-something nepo-babies as they navigate life, their parents’ legacies, and their personal struggles while living in New York City.

The cast also includes Ariana Biermann, Emira D’Spain, Shai Fruchter, Gia Giudice, Georgia McCann and Hudson McLeroy.
