The time is almost here for the DCU’s Superman to take his first flight in an official trailer. Fans have been clamoring for a Superman trailer for the James Gunn movie before the DCU film even went into production. But now, we finally know when we can expect to see the Superman trailer in all its glory. James Gunn has revealed that the Superman trailer is coming on Thursday. Although he’s usually a man of many words, Gunn kept it short this time simply saying, “#Superman #trailer Thursday.” #Thursday, go it.
For a second, folks thought Gunn had dropped the trailer then and there because his Superman announcement came with a video. But the :12 seconds of film just further hype our Thursday appointment. They share, “Look up.” We’re looking up, but the Superman teaser trailer hasn’t arrived yet, alas. There’s not much footage in this tease of a tease, but we do get a zoom-in on the Superman logo and hear some rather chilly audio blowing around. We feel like we’re seeing a glimpse of the DCU Superman‘s Fortress of Solitude.
But that’s not all we get as we wait for the Superman trailer’s release date to arrive. James Gunn and star David Corenswet both shared a new Superman motion poster that goes right to heart of Superman fans’ emotions. The new teaser for Superman is accompanied by a reimagined version of John Williams’ iconic theme for the Man of Steel. That’s one of the most iconic themes in history, of course. And hearing it in this all-new way bodes good things for the DCU’s future. Watching this new teaser, we know that Gunn’s Superman will be a fine mix of nostalgia and modernization, and we can’t wait to see more when the trailer arrives.
