Anya Taylor-Joy is out for vengeance in the new trailer for Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. George Miller’s much-anticipated prequel is due out May 24th, 2024, and this new preview is sure to get your engines revving.
This second trailer more directly lays out the plot of the Mad Max: Fury Road follow-up. As a young girl, Furiosa (Alyla Browne) is taken from her badass mother (Charlee Fraser) and verdant home by the Warlod Dementus (Chris Hemsworth, in full-on crazy-Thor mode with a fake nose, exaggerated accent, chariot of BMW motorcycles, and torn red cape). After surviving for years as Dementus’ captive, a now grown Furiosa (Taylor-Joy) sees an opportunity for freedom — and revenge — when the Biker Horde comes across The Immortan Joe (Lachy Hulme).
Furiosa promises more of the insane post-apocalyptic vehicular insanity and Miller’s visual panache that the series is known for, paired this time with a compelling years-long journey of fresh central character. Buckle up and hit play on the new Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga trailer below.
Here’s the official synopsis:
“As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.”
