Nevertel have given us another taste of their forthcoming album ‘Start Again’ with slow-burning single ‘Some Things’.
With the trio’s latest full-length set to arrive on September 12, it follows previous singles ‘Criminal’, ‘Sacrifice’, ‘Losing Faith’ and ‘Starting Over’.
On the freshly dropped cut, producer/rapper Raul Lopez has shared:
“‘Some Things’ was written about realizing that maybe it’s best to let the ones you love go in order for you both to move forward in your life… [It] was written at a time in our career where I believe we were the most lost, mad, and vulnerable. The guys and I had a lot of life altering things happen, and writing music was becoming very difficult. Despite those feelings, we decided to take a writing trip to Los Angeles and got help getting our emotions out with our music. Working with our friend Josh Landry (LoSpirit) easily became the best session of the trip. Starting with a simple conversation about life and what we were going through, Landry truly helped us say what we’ve been wanting to say all along and helped us turn all those thoughts into music.”

Rock Sound recently caught up with the band for our Album Story series, delving into the full story of ‘Start Again’.
On their latest era, vocalist Jeremy Michael told us:
“Our last record had heavier parts, but it was also very chill, spacey and ambient. With the newer stuff, we wanted a lot more hype… We want people to have something to move to at our shows, something to get the crowd going. ‘Criminal’ became the blueprint for that feeling, and everything after that had to fit within that. It’s about making music that’s timeless, and we pushed ourselves to make things that felt larger than life and more honest than we were used to.”
