Netflix has released a new behind-the-scenes look at Happy Gilmore 2, the sequel to the beloved Adam Sandler-starring 1996 golf comedy. Happy Gilmore 2 will be hitting Netflix later this year.

The streaming service has been releasing tiny teasers for the film for a few months now, with the latest being a behind-the-scenes look at the production of Happy Gilmore 2, which included professional golfers such as Will Zalatoris, Justin Thomas, Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau, Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and more.

At this time, however, Netflix has not announced a release date for Happy Gilmore 2 nor an official trailer. With the Super Bowl around the corner, though, perhaps Netflix has that circled as the perfect event for the trailer’s debut.

“It’s been almost 30 years since we last saw Happy Gilmore, the long-driving hero who won in the Tour Championship in 1996. Now, we finally get to catch up with him in a new sequel,” Netflix said when they confirmed the development of the project in 2024.

“That’s right, Adam Sandler is returning to the golf green as Happy Gilmore, and he’s bringing along a few new and familiar faces,” the statement concluded.

Alongside Adam Sandler as Happy Gilmore, a hot-headed amateur golfer turned professional golfer, Happy Gilmore 2 will also see Julie Bowen reprise her role of Virginia Venit, Gilmore’s love interest, and Christopher McDonald return as Shooter McGavin, Gilmore’s rival.

Additional returning cast members include Allen Covert, Dennis Dugan, and Ben Still has Hal L., while Benito Martínez Ocasio (Bad Bunny), Maxwell Jacob Friedman, Scott Mescudi, Margaret Qualley, Benny Safdie, and Nick Swardson have also joined the cast. Celebrities such as Travis Kelce, Eminem, John Daly, and the above golfers are set to cameo in the film, as well.
