What Went Wrong Between Olukoya And His Former ‘Bachelorette’ Babe?
The Blast has covered many details of Olukoya and Young’s relationship in the past, including several tidbits having to do with the duo’s surprising split.
Olukoya and Young got engaged on the season finale of Young’s season of “The Bachelorette,” and received a hefty engagement present from the powers that be within the ‘Bachelor’ franchise; a check to help the duo purchase their first home together.
Olukoya was the one to pull the plug on their engagement, a move which caught Young off guard.
The former teacher was careful not to express too much about her heartbreak to the press during the early weeks following their breakup.
According to one of The Blast’s pieces of coverage over their break-up, Young appeared on Bachelor Nation’s “Ben and Ashley I. Almost Famous Podcast,” and told her fellow Bachelor Nation alum, “I will say this is not something I foresaw, and I’ll leave it there.”
A few months later, Olukoya would publicly tell his side of the story.
Olukoya revealed the prospect of the former couple ending their relationship had not been a new concept; He revealed the couple had entertained the idea twice before officially ending their relationship.
Olukoya revealed multiple intimate details about their split on an episode of Nick Viall’s podcast “The Viall Files,” including the revelation the duo had started off the new year having disagreements.
“We just stopped clicking,” Oluykoya explained. “Communication broke down. January 2nd- I remember it like it was yesterday. It was like, ‘What’s going on right now?’ I fell in love with this woman, and then, like, I’m not saying she, like, turned into like, this terrible person, but it just wasn’t the same really quick.”
The pair ultimately ended their relationship via phone, following a week of “late-night conversations, texting phone calls, FaceTimes, things like that,” Olukoya said.
Could Olukoya’s TikTok Have Anything To Do With Young’s Latest Comments?
Break-ups can have their ups and downs, but it seems as if Young is currently on the up and up in her respective healing experience.
The former ‘Bachelorette’ was much more ready to publicly reveal details about her and Olukoya’s broken engagement to Life & Style Magazine a few days ago.
“I really did the work early on, and it’s a lot when so much is going on outside of you,” Young told the outlet. “You have to heal otherwise, you are going to constantly- like, your emotions depend on what’s happening,” she explained.
Young would go on to provide more insight pertaining to how she was able to deal with the massive amount of external noise surrounding her personal life.
“Honestly, just really truly trusting your value and knowing your worth. It’s hard when so many people- there’s so much noise going on. Whether it’s from the person you broke up with, whether it’s from everybody else around you, but you really truly have to be so confident in yourself. Sticking to what you know, being who you are, never wavering from that,” Young said.
