MrBeast is turning over a new page from YouTube to the literary world, reportedly co-writing a thriller novel that’s already sparking “eight-figure” offers for TV and movie rights.
According to Deadline, Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson has teamed up with iconic thriller writer James Patterson to craft a high-stakes novel tentatively titled “The Most Dangerous Game.” While the title isn’t set in stone, the book has allegedly already generated serious buzz.
What is MrBeast’s new book about?
Described as having “shades of Squid Game,” the novel’s only description so far reads, “Players fight to survive deadly tests held in dangerous locations around the world, as they battle to become ‘The One.’”
This also distinctly sounds very similar to his hit Amazon Prime series Beast Games and his many YouTube challenge videos that have pulled in billions of views.
Beast Games holds the record for having the largest grand prize for a game show.
As part of the upcoming series, an “accompanying nonfiction book” is said to be also in the works, though details on that remain even more scarce. Insiders say the bidding war has already reached “eight-figure” territory for offers on publishing rights , despite the project still being under development.
MrBeast is said to be co-writing the novel alongside Patterson, who is an author known for being the mastermind behind iconic characters and series such as Alex Cross, the Women’s Murder Club, Jane Smith, and Maximum Ride, as well as stories about the Kennedys, John Lennon, and Tiger Woods.
Known for his viral challenges and massive prizes given away through his YouTube channel, aslongside his Feastables chocolate and MrBeast Burger food brands. MrBeast’s pivot to the literary world could mark his most ambitious crossover yet.
Given the massive popularity of his similar show Beast Games, which set over 40 Guinness World Records and became Prime Video’s most-watched unscripted series after launch, MrBeast’s new thriller novel could follow a similar trajectory—this time, potentially dominating both bookshelves and screens.
