MrBeast’s mom is lending him money for his wedding despite being a billionaire

YouTube superstar Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson is actually lending money from his money for his wedding despite being a billionaire on paper.

MrBeast’s YouTube success has had a lot to do with him splashing the cash. In his earlier days, Donaldson would put his friends up to challenges for big money, and while that somewhat remains, he’s gotten big creators and celebrities involved now too.

Accurate figures on YouTube’s payouts can, at times, be a little hard to come by, but Donaldson has been open about his net worth and stuff. During his appearance on Steven Bartlett’s ‘A Diary of a CEO’ podcast, MrBeast revealed that he is, on paper, a billionaire.

“On paper? Yeah, but in my actual bank account, I have less than a million dollars,” he replied when Bartlett asked if he had hit the nine zeroes club. So, it might be a surprise to learn that he is having to lend money for his own wedding from his mom.

The YouTube superstar replied to Dexerto’s X (formerly Twitter) post about the fact that he is “the only billionaire under 30 to have not inherited his wealth” from his parents.

“I personally have very little money because I reinvest everything (I think this year we’ll spend around a quarter of a billion on content),” he posted.

“Ironically, I’m actually borrowing $ from my mom to pay for my upcoming wedding lol. But sure, on paper the businesses I own are worth a lot.”

Donaldson lost “tens of millions” of dollars making his ‘Beast Games’ series become a reality on Amazon Prime, but that loss was a bit of an investment for the future.

He is aiming to raise “hundreds of millions” for his business empire, opening himself up to outside investment. As per Bloomberg, that would value him at around $5 billion in total.

So, his mom can lend him the money safe in the knowledge that she’ll get it back, and probably then some too.
