The first season of Beast Games sits at a dismally low 13% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, something that certainly irked the creator, MrBeast, but he told Dexerto he makes the show for the many, not the few.
Speaking on Dexerto’s Clickbaited show, we asked Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson to expand on his earlier criticism of the Rotten Tomatoes score, which references only eight reviews, and averages 13/100.
The YouTube star previously called out the score for how off-the-mark it was compared to the audience score, which boasts a much healthier 89/100 and considers thousands of fan-submitted reviews.
“The critics score is based off of eight critics,” Donaldson said. “So when people reference the critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes, you’re literally just referencing eight people. Whereas, when you look at our Popcorn score, which is probably over 10,000 reviews, it’s 90%, 9/10.

MrBeast also added that the reviews of the show dropped very fast, when only two episodes had been released, and they released almost instantly too.
“Most of the reviews came in right when the show dropped, so I don’t think they watched the show, and just rated it one star.”
However, Jimmy did concede that the show will certainly not be everyone’s cup of tea.
“Not everyone is going to like the show. If someone objectively watches all ten episodes and they say it’s terrible, then that’s their opinion, and all I would ask is like, ‘hey, can you tell me why, and I’ll work to improve it in the future.’
“At the end of the day, I’m making the show to entertain the audience, not eight random critics.”
