MrBeast calls on YouTube’s biggest creators after huge challenge from Spanish star

MrBeast calls on YouTube’s biggest creators after huge challenge from Spanish star

Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson is calling on YouTube’s version of the Avengers for a basketball game after being challenged by another star.

Back in late 2022, MrBeast finally reached the YouTube summit, toppling Felix ‘PewDiePie’ Kjellberg as the channel with the most subscribers on the video sharing platform. Since that feat, Donaldson has gone from strength to strength.

In late 2024, the YouTube star jumped into the world of television, linking up with Amazon’s Prime Video to launch the Beast Games series. That was well received by viewers and a second season is already in the offing with casting calls put out for the “strongest” and “smartest” people possible.

Even though he has success away from YouTube, MrBeast’s output on his home platform has not waned. He is still pumping out videos with regularity, some off his own back and others working with different creators.

MrBeast needs YouTube’s biggest stars for basketball game

He’s also been challenged to one of the biggest spectacles in YouTube history too. Uruguyan YouTuber Fede Vigevani, who has around 65 million subscribers, wants a basketball game between the biggest English-speaking and Spanish-speaking creators.

“He thinks the biggest Spanish creators can beat the biggest English-speaking creators in a game of basketball,” Donaldson said in an Instagram video on March 30.

“Obviously, I can’t let a comment like that slide. So I’m looking to get the six biggest English-speaking creators in the world to go head-to-head against the biggest Spanish-speaking creators. April 25th.”

MrBeast name checked Kai Cenat and IShowSpeed as his two first picks, urging creators to message him so that they can be on the team.

Kai, while more Twitch-focused, is one of the biggest names on the internet and commands over seven million subscribers on YouTube. So, he does fit the bill somewhat.

The likes of PewDiePie, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Mark Rober would also fit the bill for Jimmy’s team. But, who knows if they’ll team up with him come the end of April.
