MOTHICA has shared the latest taster of her upcoming visual album ‘KISSING DEATH’ in the form of dark, captivating track ‘Red’.
Coming shortly after MOTHICA announced dates for a 2024 UK and EU tour, the new track follows the soaring ‘Doomed’, and the album’s brooding single ‘Curiosity Killed The Moth’.
Released alongside another brilliantly cinematic video, ‘Red’ is a wickedly dark rock track laden with electronic influence.
Explaining more about it and its accompanying music video, MOTHICA has explained:
“After releasing ‘Nocturnal’, which had more of a heavier influence, I knew I wanted to include a rock song.
“In the narrative of the album, I wanted younger me to go to a rock show of future me, which is obviously impossible in reality, but it represents all the music I grew up listening to and what I’d later be inspired by. My buddy Nick Sadler and I wrote this together to be this rock-inspired anthem that teenage me would’ve loved, despite the lyrics being so self-destructive.”

MOTHICA’s forthcoming LP ‘KISSING DEATH’ is set to arrive on August 23 via the singer-songwriter’s own Heavy Heart Records imprint, partnering with Rise Records.
That gives you plenty of time to get stuck into the new songs before she heads out on tour across the UK and EU.
