Morrissey is returning to Los Angeles this month for three shows: December 28th and 29th at the United Theater on Broadway, and a special New Year’s Eve show on December 31st at the Hollywood Palladium. Because what better way to celebrate the end of this miserable year than with the most miserable man in music?
The singer and songwriter just completed a North American tour back in November, which marked his only concerts of 2024 (beyond a brief summer stint in Las Vegas to celebrate 20 years of his album Beethoven Was Deaf). No openers have been announced for the concerts at the United Theater on Broadway, but Mariachi El Bronx will open the New Year’s Eve gig; it will also feature a countdown and balloon drop at midnight to ring in the new year.
Tickets for Morrissey’s three December shows in Los Angeles will go on sale to the general public on Friday, December 6th at 12:00 p.m. PST. Tickets for the December 28th and 29th run at the United Theater on Broadway will be available via AXS.com; the New Year’s Eve concert at the Hollywood Palladium will first go on sale via a Live Nation pre-sale kicking off on Thursday, December 5th at 12:00 p.m. PST (use code JOY), with the general on sale following via Ticketmaster.

While Morrissey did successfully complete his 2024 North American tour, he continues to attract controversy. He recently claimed that because of a war on “free speech” in England, “nobody” will release his music. He also alleged that the media is trying to “delete” his central contributions to The Smiths. Meanwhile, Morrissey fired his management after another dispute with former Smiths bandmate Johnny Marr, who continues to turn down a Smiths reunion.
Morrissey had announced a new album, Bonfire of Teenagers, in 2022, but it has since been shelved — a decision he attributes to Capitol Records.
