MMA Fighter Jessica Aguilar in Two-Piece Workout Gear is Into "Self-Defense"

Jessica Aguilar is defending herself – in her workout gear. In a new social media post the MMA fighter flaunts her fit figure in exercise clothes while discussing the importance of self-defense. “Want to feel safer when you run? Join us for an empowering self-defense class powered by lululemon and me, Jessica Aguilar. These free classes are open to everyone. Learn essential techniques and strategies to boost your confidence and safety,” she wrote in the Instagram caption. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Jessica is a runner. “Conquered the Puebla 21k marathon- signed up on Tuesday, thought it was Saturday, ended up running on Sunday. Embraced the mix up with a lot of laughter, love and loads of gratitude for my better half’s cheers and support. Fueling the thrill of competition and self growth. More adventures soon!” she captioned a recent post.  According to the Mayo Clinic, running is great for cardiovascular health, muscle building, and weight loss. “For every mile run, the average person will burn approximately 100 calories,” they say.

Jessica is all about self-care. She recently went on a solo expedition to the Amazon. “Following a significant change in my life, I embarked on a journey of introspection,” she wrote. “I’m grateful for every twist and turn. The symphony of life is constantly changing and I accept every note.”

Jessica makes sure to stretch, offering “reasons you should stretch every day!” in a post. “You can improve stress, Release tender muscles, Hin body maintenance, It’s the Most Flexible and Accessible way to Look After Yourself, You’ll Be Aging without the Greys,” she captioned the post. “Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints,” says Harvard Health. “Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Then, when you call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way. That puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage.”

Jessica is all about hydration. “People been asking me what I’ve been up to, what I drink in that gallon everyday and how I get so strong,” she wrote. According to the Mayo Clinic, hydration is important for a variety of reasons. Water helps get rid of waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements, keeps your temperature normal, lubricates and cushions joints, and helps protect sensitive tissues.

Jessica is a mixed martial arts fighter. Studies confirm that the practice helps with balance, cognitive function and psychological health in addition to weight loss and physical fitness.
