Summer might be over, but Millie Bobby Brown is still enjoying pool time with her pups. The 18-year-old Stranger Things and Enola Holmes star posted an adorable swimsuit picture of herself cuddling with golden labrador, Marley. “Pool day with marley mops <3,” she captioned the picture. Unlike her Stranger Things character Eleven, Brown prefers avocado toast (which she thinks brings her good luck) to Eggos. “I’m not a breakfast person,” she previously told The Wrap. “If I had to, it’s avocado toast. That’s my victory breakfast! I ate it before the MTV Awards, I ate avocado toast before the SAG awards. I didn’t eat avocado toast before the Golden Globes…I’m going to be eating it before the Emmys. Hopefully something will come of that. And if I win, I’m going to thank my avocado toast on stage!”
Brown enjoys lattes every day and says she can’t do without them. “There aren’t a lot of downsides to drinking moderate amounts of coffee — and in fact, it can have positive effects on your health,” says registered dietitian Andrea Dunn, RD. “Coffee contains about a thousand different botanical compounds. Surprisingly, coffee is the single best source of antioxidants in the American diet.”
Brown eats plenty of salads and healthy food, but balances it out now and again with burgers and fries (although she doesn’t like how tomatoes make the buns soggy). “Pile high the veggie toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, and onions or add some extra flavor by grilling onions and mushrooms,” says Toby Amidor, MS, RD, CDN. “If you’re a cheeseburger lover, stick with one slice of cheese or you’ll send the calories and sodium through the roof. Also be mindful with condiments like ketchup, mayo, and barbecue sauce because of the extra fat and added sugar and keep portions to 1 tablespoon.”.
Brown enjoys long walks with her adorable little pup Winnie. “Walking can help protect you during cold and flu season,” says Harvard Health. “A study of over 1,000 men and women found that those who walked at least 20 minutes a day, at least 5 days a week, had 43% fewer sick days than those who exercised once a week or less. And if they did get sick, it was for a shorter duration, and their symptoms were milder.”
Brown enjoys meat, and says if she were to steal anything from a grocery store (as her character Eleven did with Eggos), it would be ham. “I’d probably go for really nice ham. Really really good ham, and then I’d have bread at home, and I’d make a really good sandwich,” she says. “Or, I’d run in and get chili con carne. That’s one of my favorites. Cook it on a pot on the stove, and then boom. Done… I eat salads. I have all the salads on set. I have Caesar salad. Mixed salads. There’s always such good salads on set, all the time. And then I’ll have some meat on the side, because I just love my meat.”
