The Avengers: Doomsday cast is so large that it took Marvel hours of showing fans chairs during a livestream to go through its lineup. And the wild part is that there are more announcements that will come in the near future! One name that probably won’t come up is Hank Pym. Ant-Man star Michael Douglas spoke to Deadline recently and said that he thinks he’s done with the MCU, which means we probably won’t see Hank Pym anymore.
“I had the experience, and I was excited to do it,” Douglas said. This makes a lot of sense for a few reasons. First, Douglas asked for Hank Pym to be killed off in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which obviously didn’t happen. Hank returns home and goes back to living his life.
And, outside of his MCU appearances as Hank Pym, Douglas is mostly retired from acting, instead choosing to run a production company. He’s also 80 years old and deserves to do whatever he wants after a long and very successful career.
Evangeline Lilly, who played his daughter Hope, is also stepping away from acting to focus on family. So it’s unlikely we will see this family again, unless Michelle Pfieffer decides to return as Janet and join Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man. We shall see.
