A popular Miami Beach bar is set to close, and the owner blames the city’s war on spring breakers for affecting his business. Last month, Governor Ron DeSantis spoke to the media about
“We can’t have things just descend into madness, mayhem, and chaos. And it hurt businesses when that happened. It hurts residents’ quality of life. And there’s just a lot of negatives that came from that.
“There’s a lot of great reasons to want to come here, and we welcome that and we’ll continue to welcome that. But it’s got to be done in a way that is good for everybody.” There will, of course, be strict curfews again in Miami Beach this year…
For the past month, the city of Miami Beach has enabled curfews, $100 parking for out-of-towners, and sobriety checkpoints to deter spring breakers from partying in Miami.
On Friday, popular Miami Beach bar Finnegan’s Road announced it was closing, and the owner says the city’s rules during spring break doomed his business.

“It’s been a tough March, you know?” he said.
DeCastro said it’s been the worst March in the bar’s 25-year history.
“It really is a shame,” he said. “The city breaking up with spring break has really crippled the food and beverage industry on South Beach.”
