Mexican-Cuban Model Jamillette Gaxiola in Two-Piece Workout Gear Has an "Altitude Adjustment"

Jamillette Gaxiola is going for a hike – in her workout clothes. In a new social media post the model shows off her amazing body in a crop top and shorts during a trip to Machu Picchu. “Altitude adjustment 🇵🇪 #machupicchu #peru #bucketlist,” she captioned the Instagram post. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Jamillette has a balanced approach to diet and exercise. “I’m all about moderation – From my eating habits to my workouts that consist of some cardio and stretching with light weights. I just like to stay toned and healthy. Luckily, I don’t have to be in the top shape as some of the MMA fighters! I admire the hard work that they put in!” she told Women Fitness.

Jamillette enjoys the perks of coffee. “I like to start my day off with a shot of Cuban Espresso,” she told Women Fitness. According to the Cleveland Clinic, there are several benefits of drinking coffee in moderation. “It acts on your brain to improve memory, mood, reaction times, and mental function,” they say, citing a study finding that caffeine can improve endurance and performance during exercise. It is also antioxidant-rich, can ward off diabetes, prevent neurologic disease, lower cancer risk, and ward off depression, they point out.

When it comes to her diet, Jamillette fills her plate with protein. “I’m a healthy eater,” she says, adding that she focuses on “high protein meals.” However, she does indulge in the occasional cheat meal. “I do like to splurge every now and then. A great desert is my treat.” According to clinical trials, consuming more protein than the recommended dietary allowance not only reduces body weight (BW), but also enhances body composition by decreasing fat mass while preserving fat-free mass (FFM) in both low-calorie and standard-calorie diets.

Jamillette makes sure to hydrate. “I drink plenty of water,” she told Women Fitness. According to the Mayo Clinic, hydration is important for a variety of reasons. Water helps get rid of waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements, keeps your temperature normal, lubricates and cushions joints, and helps protect sensitive tissues.

In her recent post, Gaxiola goes hiking. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:

  • Building stronger muscles and bones
  • Improving your sense of balance
  • Improving your heart health
  • Decreasing the risk of certain respiratory problems
