Metallica's Foundation Donates $100,000 to Hurricane Helene Relief Efforts

Metallica have donated $100,000 to Hurricane Helene relief efforts via the band’s All Within My Hands Foundation.

The foundation is supplying $50,000 to both World Central Kitchen and Team Rubicon in their relief operations in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, which is now the third-deadliest storm to hit the US this century. The official death toll has surpassed 230, with hundreds still unaccounted for.

The storm made landfall on September 26th and left a path of destruction across a 500-mile stretch through Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee, resulting in catastrophic flooding and unprecedented water levels.

Metallica’s foundation announced that they would be supporting the two organizations with relief funds in an official announcement on Friday (October 4th).

World Central Kitchen’s response includes “vital food and clean water, reaching isolated communities using helicopters and airboats.”

“WCK has partnered with 35 food trucks across Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee, and 16 restaurants across North Carolina and Tennessee, already providing tens of thousands of hot meals and sandwiches to families in need,” reads a statement on the All Within My Hands website. “‘Last-mile’ deliveries ensuring everyone who needs nourishment is reached are accomplished by truck, ATV, or by foot. Additionally, WCK water tanks, capable of providing 100,000 gallons of potable water per day, have arrived in Asheville, NC.”

Meanwhile, Team Rubicon is working with federal and state emergency response agencies, including FEMA and state Emergency Operations Centers, to provide immediate disaster relief assistance.

“More than 140 Greyshirts (Team Rubicon volunteers) comprise five recon teams serving more than 35 communities across the affected area. These route clearance teams have already cleared more than 400 dump trucks worth of debris and continue to work diligently across Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, and Tennessee,” continues the All Within My Hands announcement.

Metallica’s foundation has a long history of helping those in need following tragedy or catastrophe. All Within My Hands has previously aided California wildfire relief and Ukrainian refugees, among other causes.

The band will play its annual “Helping Hands” benefit concert to raise money for the All Within My Hands Foundation on December 13th at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles. Metallica also recently announced a 2025 North American leg of their ongoing “M72 World Tour.”
