Unfortunately, while Gibson was recording Rogan’s podcast in Austin, Texas, he lost his $14.5 million home in California to the fires.
Speaking to NewsNation, Gibson revealed that he knew his house was in jeopardy while he was on Rodgan’s podcast. but wasn’t extremely worried about it at the time.
“I was kind of still at ease while we were talking because I knew my neighborhood was on fire. I thought, ‘Eh, I wonder if my place is still there.’ When I got home, sure enough, it wasn’t there.”
“I have never seen a place so perfectly burned, you could put it in an urn,” Gibson continued. “[The area] was completely toasted. I’ve never seen such a complete burn.”
Gibson went on to speak about how he felt emotionally after losing his longtime home.
“It’s just a thing but it’s obviously devastating. It’s emotional,” he said. “You know, we have lived there for a long time.”
“I’ve been relieved from the burden of my stuff because it’s all in cinders,” he said with a laugh.
