It was a “new nose, who dis” moment for reality star Meghan King when the bandage was removed after her recent rhinoplasty. King debuted her results while telling her recovery journey story on Instagram. In a set of Story slides, the “Real Housewives of Orange County” alum, 38, explains what it was like for her after her nose job and the changes that have already occurred.
King Explained The Recovery Process In Instagram Story Slides
In the first slide, she shows a clip of seven days post-surgery with the bandage still on her nose. “I cut off this tape that was on my nose this morning. And I can see my nose, so I’m so excited, like the tip of it, so I’m so excited. I’m going to CosmetiCare right now to get this off,” she said. “We get to see the big reveal. I’m so excited.”
Dr. Michael Niccole explained what was done in her next slide. “One week post op rhinoplasty. So we did breasts and we didn’t do anything to her toes but we did do her nose,” he joked before removing the bandage. In the next slide, he discussed taking the stitches out and explained what he did during surgery. King added this caption to her video, “This is one of the many reasons why I chose Cosmeticare and Dr. Niccole. He was always explaining things really well. It was helpful and awesome to understand the surgery and the results!” King also got her breasts done and they briefly discussed how that surgery went as well.
King Was “Stunned” By The Swelling
The reality star then explained how “stunned” she was about the swelling that occurred after surgery. “My reaction was stunned. I wasn’t prepared for how much swelling there would be. Dr. Niccole did very little to correct, I guess, my nose, and so literally when he took off that bandage my nose was wider than it was originally,” she explained. “And guys, I had a vasovagal reaction. If you don’t know what that is, look it up. I puked.” She then shows a photo of what it looked like.
It Didn’t Take Long For Some Swelling To Go Down
Just a few hours later, the swelling went down a noticeable amount. King said, “only a few hours later, the same day, I’m going to show you what I looked like going out that same night.” She also explained that it can take up to a year for the swelling to completely go down. She then showed a photo of her a few hours after her big reveal.
King then posted side-by-side makeup free photos – one taken the day the bandage was removed and one taken less than a month later.
King then threw some humor into the mix with her last Story slide saying her original nose looked similar to Squidward’s from “Spongebob Squarepants.”
The mom of three first mentioned the possibility of plastic surgery in an Instagram post this summer. The post featured two photos, “Instagram (swipe)➡️ vs reality.”
Comments were mixed and included –
“Gorge just the way you are, I had breast implants, got violently ill and had them removed! Research breast implant illness lovely – if you value your health and it looks like you do, I would encourage you to avoid implants ❤️”
“Gurl you look 🔥…but most everyone is their worst critic. I heard you on podcast say you were getting new boobs. I just did it also. Love them. Do whatever makes you feel great!”
“Whatever you want.. look great either way but so you boo!”
“Please no! Do a lift and fat transfer, you will end up with a lifetime of surgeries and even more scars! I know you’re petite, but they can find some fat go harvest. Save yourself, every 10 years until you live, can you imagine doing this every ten years.”
