A fourth Meet the Parents film is in development at Universal Pictures, with franchise stars Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Teri Polo, and Blythe Danner all in talks to return, according to Deadline.
John Hamburg, who co-wrote the three prior films in the franchise, is penning Meet the Parents 4. There’s no word on who is directing the movie, and plot details are being kept under wraps at present moment.
The original Meet the Parents film, released in 2000 and directed by Jay Roach, was a commercial blockbuster, earning more than $330 million worldwide. Its first sequel, Meet the Fockers, also directed by Roach, followed in 2004. A second sequel, the Paul Weitz-directed Little Fockers, arrived in 2010.
