McDonald’s finally gets curly fries in the United States but only in one location

McDonald’s is finally getting curly fries in the United States, but customers will have to travel to one specific location to get their hands on them.

McDonald’s and just about every other fast-food restaurant have a wildly different menu outside of the United States that features limited-edition items that US fans can’t get.

The Golden Arches company offers many of these international items at its Chicago, Illinois headquarters restaurant, which changes its menu around every six weeks.

It’s latest update offers something that customers have wanted to try for years, Twister Fries, which are McD’s rendition of curly fries.

The fries, originally released in Malaysia and Singapore, are brought to the menu for one month every year during the Chinese New Year and Hari Raya periods.

At the end of June, Instagram foodie Snackolator discovered the fries were available at the Chicago international restaurant and shared the news on his page.

“You can now get Twister Fries currently sold in other countries at McDonald’s international restaurant in Chicago (1035 W. Randolph),” he said. “At this location they rotate a menu every 6 weeks or so and feature items that they’re currently selling outside of the USA.”

Other items available at the international restaurant include McPops, the McAloo Tikki vegetarian burger, and the McRaclette burger from Switzerland.

This release comes just days before McDonald’s launches the long-awaited Snack Wraps back into the US on July 10. The new McCrispy platform for the treat will feature the same incredients as the original snack wraps: a chicken strip, ranch or spicy sauce, lettuce, and cheese.
