Mayim Bialik claims she’s ‘processing trauma’ after getting abruptly fired from Jeopardy!

Mayim Bialik opened up about 'processing trauma' on a new episode of her Bialik Breakdown podcast

Mayim Bialik has candidly spoken about feeling mentally overwhelmed after her unexpected departure from Jeopardy!.

The actress revealed earlier this month that she was let go from the beloved game show just a year after she was hired alongside Ken Jennings.

Mayim and Ken were brought on as alternating hosts of Jeopardy! in July 2022, a couple of years after the death of longtime host, Alex Trebek.

On December 15, the actress announced she’d been fired, and Ken would become the sole host of the beloved program.

In a subsequent episode of her Bialik Breakdown podcast, Mayim delved into the topic of “processing trauma.”

Sporting a large bow, Mayim shared a symbolic perspective on managing a full mental load.

She advised fans: “If a glass is already full, one extra drop will spill it over.

“The idea with meditation, the idea with therapy, the idea with processing trauma is that it lowers the water in the glass.

“So it takes more drops to get it to spill over.”

Notably, the Instagram clip was the first that’s seen her allow comments, which were turned off when she announced her show departure.

In the comments, one fan wrote: “Brilliantly said – I use this metaphor in session all the time.”

Meanwhile, others pointed out the irony of Mayim discussing therapy, citing her controversial political stances.

Another comment read: “I used to admire you but no more with the complete lack of objectivity about Gaza. Truth matters.”

Later on in the podcast, Mayim spoke about dealing with personal “suffering.”

“It shouldn’t take suffering to lead us to the point of being ready to confront things by meditating.”

‘NO LONGER HOSTING’

This episode comes just after Mayim shared she was fired just ahead of the holidays.

In an Instagram post, she wrote: “As the Holiday break begins in Hollywood, I have some Jeopardy! news.

“Sony has informed me that I will no longer be hosting the syndicated version of Jeopardy!.”

She continued: “I am incredibly honored to have been nominated for a primetime Emmy for hosting this year and am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have been part of the Jeopardy! family.

“For all of you who have supported me through this journey and to the fans, contestants, writers, staff of America’s favorite quiz show, thank you.”

Jeopardy! confirmed the news soon after.

The show’s official Instagram post read: “Mayim Bialik has announced she will no longer be hosting the syndicated [or nightly] version of Jeopardy!.

“We have made the decision to have one host for the syndicated show next season to maintain continuity for our viewers.

“And Ken Jennings will be the sole host for syndicated Jeopardy!.”

“We are truly grateful for all of Mayim’s contributions to Jeopardy!, and we hope to work with her in the future on primetime specials.”

Jeopardy! fans have begun speculating she was let go over a controversial Instagram video she released a couple of months ago.

In October, Mayim posted, before later deleting, a pro-Israel video that saw the outspoken Jewish actress use the Hamas attacks as questions for a mock Jeopardy! round.

She played the host, and Israeli actress Noa Tishby played a contestant.

The video faced much backlash as it made the rounds on Reddit, with fans expressing anger over Mayim blending the game show with politics.
