Actress-yoga instructress Maxene Magalona feels that to auspiciously start the year on a clean, healthy slate, one must go vegan.
Magalona stressed the importance of eating vegetables in her Instagram post on January 1, sharing three photos taken in an event in Pasay City.
“Happy Veganuary!” she greeted her Instagram followers.
“Did you know that every January, the vegan communities all over the world promote ‘Veganuary’ which is meant to encourage more people to try eating vegan and practicing a more conscious lifestyle at the start of the year?” she shared.
Magalona then encouraged her followers to go vegan as it can do dramatic change in one’s wellbeing.
“So here we are again, inviting more of you to go vegan for the whole month of January in the hopes that you can see for yourself how this diet and lifestyle change can actually help improve your overall wellbeing,” she said.
She said that for her, going vegan helped her balance her energy and change her attitude towards positivity.“(It gave) me a more positive outlook in life. It also helped me become a more compassionate and kind human being.”
Going vegan is not only good for one’s body, but also to the environment, she said, adding that as “more of us go vegan, we can actually help save the planet in its fight against climate change and global warming.” EDV
